Lipsitz & Ponterio, LLC is announcing a total of $2.44 million in settlements on behalf of a former Buffalo, New York, sheet metal worker who installed, repaired and maintained residential boilers. The case, which has been fully settled, was brought against several manufacturers and distributors of asbestos-containing materials.
Our client worked as sheet metal worker for a local heating company, and he was exposed to asbestos when he worked at residential sites installing and/or removing boilers. Beginning in 1964, our client was exposed to asbestos-containing shorts, furnace cement and asbestos rope when he removed boilers from residential homes. Our client was also exposed to other asbestos-containing materials during his employment at numerous industrial sites and when he worked as a brake mechanic.
In 2007 and as a result of his exposure to asbestos-containing materials, our client was diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma at the age of 74.
