If you or a loved one worked at DuPont in Niagara Falls, there are a lot of things you need to know about potential exposure to asbestos there. In this video by dedicated Buffalo mesothelioma attorney Mathew J. Morton discusses more about DuPont Plant asbestos exposure and how we can help you.

Historically, DuPont has had a significant manufacturing presence in Western New York. They had facilities in Niagara Falls and in Tonawanda, New York.  The Niagara Falls Plant is located on Buffalo Avenue and was most recently operated by The Chemours Company. After a review of its Reactive Metal Solutions business, it was decided to stop production at the Niagara Falls site by the end of 2016.

DuPont was a chemical plant that created and manufactured various chemicals like sodium chloride. The manufacturing of these chemicals required the use of special piping.

The piping itself contained asbestos. This piping was constantly being cut and manipulated and rerouted throughout the plant. This created dust that exposed the workers to asbestos.

Additionally, there were huge tanks and kettles used in the manufacturing of these chemicals, all insulated with asbestos. This insulation, both on the pedals, tanks, and even the piping leading to the tanks were constantly being renovated both by DuPont workers and outside contractors.
